shortcoming

缺点 例：The goalkeeper of this team has good skills and techniques, his only shortcoming is that he is not tall enough.这个队的守门员技术和素质都很好，唯一不足的是个子不太高。

总体上，也就是说defect的含义比shortcoming广。
