老师是在你们记忆单词的基础上考察你们的英语语言运用与表达能力，同时引导你们学习英语单词要尽量适应英文本身的解释，这样得出的结论更地道、更纯正、也更精准，所以不必很严格的把英语意思背下来，只要通俗化老师就会满意的。一个很普遍的方法就是用近似意思的单词或短语代替所解释的单词，即代替法，或是用更浅显的语言去重新解说一下。这和翻译文言文的字词很像，不是吗？
